Close up of barely-lit 5mm Clear Piranah LED.
LED is wired to male pin headers, direct to a CR2032 battery. Pushing a piece of anti-static foam over the bare pin headers.
The resistance quality of the anti-static foam lets just enough through to light each of the R-G-B color channels.
Sort of discovered this by accident, and shot some macro photos with 100mm lens at just about the minimum focus distance.
