Closeup of the laser cut spring vibration dampner

The ball in the middle of the spring stops the spring from compressing too much, and having too much of an angle at the edges. Yes, I do like to learn the hard way. (Trial and error) this is actually v2 of the spring design.

 

The legs of the drum head are tab-in-hole top and bottom. Secured with a solid pressure fit, and some plastic weld.
