The USCGC Eagle taken at sunrise in Halifax harbour. The ship was built in 1936 and named after a well know member of the Nazi Party - Horst Wessel and commissioned by Adolf Hitler. At the end of World War II it was taken by the United States as part of war reparations. After repairs she was commissioned into the United States Coast Guard as the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle on 15 May 1946.
