Deogarh
Deogarh is a small town set in wonderful surroundings. It is home to a 200 year-old fort and beautiful lake, which features an island filled with ancient tombs and a ruined temple. We enjoyed wandering through the narrow streets of the town (dodging the rickshaws, cyclists, scooters and cows) to see the small shops and market stalls.
Recently I have been reading some fiction set in India; A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry and The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga. As I read about the bustling, colourful, chaotic scenes described by these authors, these are the pictures that fill my mind.
