a_v_c_o_AKP (ca. 1962/63, EVA thru LEM window, unnumbered NAA photo, S-63-11346 eq)
A striking, stark & gorgeous North American Aviation (NAA) artist’s concept – I’m sure by Gary Meyer – of the first lunar Extravehicular Activity (EVA), as seen from within the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM). Being from 1962/63, the LEM still has seats, the backrest & headrest of each being clearly visible.
All kinds of aesthetically pleasing things going on here. No need for my usual blathering...other than...check out that serious-ass whip antenna on the PLSS. 😉 Enjoy.
I really expected multiple returns when I conducted a Google image search of this, but instead came up empty. However, I’m relatively certain it was used in the 1962/63(?) NAA film entitled “The Apollo Mission”. The delightful film, which had been made available online by Jeff Quitney, first on YouTube, then Vimeo, is sadly, no longer available…ANYWHERE. 😞
