“A 138-foot-tall Saturn V first stage, built at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans and transported to KSC by barge, is lifted from its ground transporter in the transfer aisle of the 525-foot-high Vehicle Assembly Building here from where it is placed in a high bay to await stacking of the other stages and spacecraft. The stage will be used on Apollo 13, scheduled to be the third moon-landing mission.”

 

The truncated appearance of the F-1 engines are due to the thrust chamber nozzle extensions not yet being attached...along with the engine fairings/fins being absent as well.
