AS-201 First Stage Erection:
The Apollo/Saturn 201 first stage is seen being lifted into place at Launch Complex 34 at the Cape. The instrumented Apollo Command and Service modules (Spacecraft 009) and a spacecraft LEM adapter will follow after the first stage is set in place on the launch pad. This will be the first launch of the Saturn 1B to check spacecraft and launch vehicle mechanical compatibility and to test the spacecraft heat shield in a high-velocity re-entry mode.
