The Hiawatha Express

Now for something just a little bit different. This is what the locals call the train to nowhere. The new Hiawatha Line that takes commuters from the mall of America into the heart of the downtown area.

Tuesday last week I took the train into downtown Minneapolis to meet with Gail *G*S*C* , We had lunch, and walked around nicollette island, taking in some sights, but mostly gabbing and getting to know each other. Thanks Gail for meeting me. While I seems to have spent more time talking than actually shooting the city sights,I did hop off the train on the way back at this station with its brightly colored glass to shoot the next train as it came in. The other end of the platform was done in yellowand blues. With it's prairie Frank Lloyd Wright ish design and colored glass,This was the neatest of the stations in my opinion.

Funny side story, When I got back to the parking ramp I had remembered I intentionally parked right next to the stairs and in memory I thought it was 1 level up from the train station when I parked. I got to that level, walked all over looking for my car. Really tired, My kness were killing me that afternoon. I must have hunted for at least 20 minutes. Was it stolen? Come on really? Was it possible? , give me a break. I was about ready to think I would have to call family to rescue me when I decided to go up one more level. There at the top of the stairs sat my car. Here' s a great big Norsky DUH!!!!
