Purple-crowned Fairywren Family

Malurus coronatus coronatus

The male is in the middle. The female is the one with the gray crown to his right. The one with the brown crown is a young bird. This species, like other fairywrens, is a co-operative breeder. The young bird shown here may stay around and help raise the next brood.
