Senator David Norris On a Bloomsday Walk (A Short Animation) by Antonio Carty
Irish Senator David Norris was a most enjoyable character from which to make an expressive and humorous animation, he's a great performer! This short animation portrays Senator Norris, a long time successful activist for human rights including gay rights in Ireland and also his connection out on the streets with people during Dublin's annual James Joyce Bloomsday Festival.
This is one of several short animations I was asked to create in 2016 for an 8 episode TV series produced by David Gillespie and called 'The Out Source'. The animations where to introduce and enliven the shows interviews with and about Dublin's LGBT community and their various experiences in the years before the Gay Marriage referendum in 2015.
I like to thank David Gillespie for believing in my work.
Also I am grateful to David Gillespie & Andy Mooney & Roisin Blade for featuring me on an episode of their Dublin Community Television Arts Show series called 'Generator' which gave a fresh perspective on both emerging & established artists and introduced the public to many of Ireland's interesting new art venues.
