Blossoming book

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !

Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily. And the theme at Smile on Saturday is dead or dying flowers. Since I’m in Montreal, Canada and we have currently 50 cm of snow (at least…) it is very difficult to find any kind of flowers dead or alive. Of course, I can always buy flowers but since I’m not in to flowers at all I decided to take another route for this picture…

It is a common knowledge that books can blossom sometimes…However it is very, very rare to see a flower growing from a book. The average blossom period for books is every 435 years if the conditions are right (according to AFS : American Flora Society …the one and only). So when I saw this book with a beautiful hydrangea flower I had to keep it forever…. Of course, since it is winter the blossom period was already over when I got it: that is why it is a dry flower you see and not a wilting one… Is this picture respecting the theme ? Probably not but dont you worry, I will be back next week (since I truly appreciate SOS Group !). Did this picture make you smile ? If the answer is yes, then I’m happy. And dont forget to watch your books closely… You never know when the blossoming will start and you dont want to miss this once very 435 years event !!!

P.S I had to dig my way through snow very discreetly, just to be able to steal some of my neighbours last year hydrangeas... how pathetic is that ...

Have an amazing day and see you later my friends !!

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!
