California's Napa Valley [Plus a whopping 20 in comments!]

The story

----------------------------------------------------

Yesterday I went to Napa Valley with a group of friends; Jose, Emily, Maleeka, and Molly. We straddled the Calistoga-St. Helena area. Our mission was simple, and two fold: wine tasting. and soaking in the autumn colors.

We left from Union City early in the morning, at about 10AM. Somehow we did not have a GPS on hand, so in the words of the driver, Jose, to me: "you better learn quick." Reading these California roadmaps is difficult especially in a moving car! Once we had our route lined up, we were on our way.

From I-880N to I-80E, to Highway 37W, to Highway 29N, it was awesome to see a change in the environment. The trees more particularly. As we approached Highway 29, which would take us to the heart of Napa Valley, the trees became more and more beautiful! The autumn colors were becoming more and more profound as we drove further in. The reds, the yellows, oranges, and greens all looked spectacular -this is the first time I have seen this in person!

After a small confusion on the road, and getting a little lost we finally arrived at the Sterling Vineyards near Calistoga.

Pictured above is the view from atop one of the more scenic outlooks from the Sterling Winery facility. The weather worked out in our favor, considering the overcast forecast predictions from the day prior.

A quick note

Similar to my series from my trip to Pinnacle National Monument ...

If you'd care to follow along by picture and quaint narrative, check out my comment below -go for it!

For those who are thinking, "Yeesh, Anthony, why are all of the photos in your comments?" Well, in instances as such, I attach the photos in the comments in order to minimize the clutter visitors see in my photostream. Although the universe favors disorder, it also helps me to keep everything relatively organized and easy-to-find! The entire pseudo-journalism and the typing of the narratives is fun too :)
