Day 161: The old man is snoring

Today UK was hit with a very bad stormy season. Of course we've been getting strong gale force winds for the past couple of weeks. But today, a lot of places got affect.

Sure we Britons are used to all the grey clouds, and the heavy rain. It's expected during the transition from Winter to Spring.

But storms with winds that are soaring over 80mph? That's a bit shocking.

High tides at beaches is a normal thing. But when hit together with strong winds: a recipe for disaster, or so the radio exclaimed this afternoon.

I was about to email radio1 this afternoon to suggest a song because of today's weather. But the connection was lost. And so was my email account. Probably due to high winds.

I'm very thankful that it's ok (where I live) for the time being. But it's pretty sad stuff about all the people who got affected today (and still are affected by it right now). Pray for them. Many have lost roofs. Many houses are flooded. Many have no electricity. Many ferries and planes have been delayed. Terrible stuff. (and yet in our household we complain about the poor flower pot(s) that got tipped over in the garden!)

Suddenly UK gets attacked with freak weather. Nature going crazy. First an earthquake, now torrential downpour from the heavens? What's that all about?
