Day 29: Melting hands

So this was taken on the 29th, a little late due to lack of technology, what with being in the middle of nowhere [there wasn't even any mobile phone signal/reception, well not much!]

This photo was snapped up handheld with the annoying 17mm wide lens.

note to oneself: must remember handheld selfportraits with wide lens = no good, face looks fattage.

Snapped during lunch time in a Surfside cafe [sat by the windows with that magnificent view that looked over the whole beach]. Here's Mel. She had just finished her "learn-how-to-surf" lessons and practice sesh, and had gotten changed, and she came in to say hi to Dip, Ivy and I [sat snuggled up warm in the cafe], warming herself with my warm hands, and placing her ice-cold hands upon by burning hot cheeks.

Surfing in late October. Ha. You bet it'd be jolly well cold! [apparently it's warmer in the water than it is on land. But I heard from the group who, at the Retreat, ended up surfing, they had a shock of their life when their lessons finished and they went back on land... cold cold cold...

I could never surf. Not in late October anyway. I don't think I'd be able to survive anyway. I'm a weak swimmer to begin with...

But while they surfed, we had a good time chilling and taking it easy for a change during the retreat.
