Sunset silhouette
8/2/13. Spent today driving down to the southern parts of Monterey County, then inland on Nacimiento-Ferguson Road, a steep and winding line of tarmac. At the top (after visiting the fire station just over the ridge), we turned left, and drove to the end of the dirt road. Talked with several people along the way, including 3/4 of a family from Egypt--two of the three-quarters were hooking rugs while sitting in the shade (but not avoiding the flies... damn flies). The only fireplace maintenance we did along the way was near the bottom, a rogue camp. Otherwise, it was just driving, chatting with folks, showing directions. We ended the day on Plaskett Ridge, off the South Coast Ridge Road. This was our view at sunset. (Well, one aspect of our view.)
