Big Birthday Improv quilt

This year, my friends and I are coming up to a pretty big birthday. Not a round number, but just one that feels a little more grown up than usual. I decided to make quilts as presents, and took requests. This friend loves gees bend quilts, and requested colors that are more "her" than "me," and I'm not one to turn down a new challenge.

 

This is totally improvised with cream, navy, violet, and a little spring green (couldn't resist something bright). It was fun! It's backed in the same medium gray as the binding, and I quilted it in organic double horizontal lines. After this photo, I added some hand-stitching to finish it off.
