Þórsmörk - Gígjökull
Gígjökull goes from the large crater in Eyjafjallajökull, which erupted 2010 - the black matter is the volcano ashes from the eruption 2010
To my surprice the glacier has "gone out" - grown both in length and thickness in the last few years I did not visit.
I do not understand the powers in the stream of glaciers out of a main glaciers, but I know some "leap" at certain intervalls, but I have not heard of Gígjökull to be one of those.
As I told earlier in the stream Steinholtsjökull has grown as well in the last few years, also to my surprice.
