Entering the Right-Hand Shutup

The Right-Hand Shutup is the largest of the three drainages that empty the Solitario formation in Big Bend Ranch State Park. Ranchers herded their animals into such formations where they could keep them in place by fencing the entrance to the formations, thereby "shutting their livestock up."
