The Lower Shutup
Big Bend Ranch State Park. A "shutup" is usually a canyon or other natural feature with a narrow opening, in which ranchers can easily pen livestock with a short fence across the opening. Box canyons were often used for this purpose, but here, the canyon's downstream entrance is unpassable to most livestock.
