Inside the Gorge
This is a photo I took inside Germany's most famous river gorge -- the Partnachklamm. Like the Zugspitze mountain it's one of those must-see locations around Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria. And even though you find busloads of tourists there it is still spectacular to hike through it. I went there on a rainy day which was perfect for the location. Many small waterfalls formed because of the rain and the green moos stood out even more than usual. However, I have to say it's one of those locations that are better to experience than to photograph. You are really missing the sensation of the constant water spray on your skin, the thunderous sound from the river going through the gorge and the almost claustrophobic feeling of the small stone carven path. I hope that at least the visual splendor of the gorge can be conveyed through my photo.
