A geek stops for five minutes, trying to work out if it's actually an animatronic. He goes through the practical reasons why it could be a fake ("Because this is a really high-traffic area; it's worth the money, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to risk a real bird with all these tourists and drunks") and all the technical reasons why it isn't ("See, I saw the head yaw and pitch, which you could get from just one servo; but then I saw it do a shoulder roll, which would require another channel and a U-joint with whole redundant set of linkages...").
