A g-g-g-g-g-ghost! NOT!
This turns out to be a GEOMARKER which is a virtual coordinate origin marker thought up by some clever AutoCAD developer out of California I am told. I fail to see any usefulness of this object besides being an annoyance. You can turn this blip off with the system variable GEOMARKERVISIBILITY set to '0'
I recommend setting this in you drawing prototype and adding this to your RESET lisp routine as well.
