Traitor Molga (NJR)

I finally got to use my airbrush. It has been sitting on a shelf and various places for a decade because the gun was useless.

I decided to turn my NJR Molga into a Helic themed one.

Discoveries

Working outside is a good idea, because it's well vented and there's no risk of getting paint specks on stuff.. However, if it starts to rain, the paint won't dry due to the increased air humidity.

Also, don't put finished parts anywhere close to the spray area. Specks of paint will taint them :(

Indoors, dust might settle on the paint while it dries.

When using acrylics, quite a bit of water is needed or the paint won't flow to the airbrush. Maybe 60% water? I don't know. I don't have any fancy acrylics thinner, but I've heard that a surface tension remover can be mixed in (soap, window wash).

Too much water will cause the paint (pigments) to settle in the crevices which might not be desired.

I need to coat this, because I suspect the paint layer is rather fragile. I only have a dull enamel coat though. Might actually want to use a gloss one for this, to get a plastic look.

Might buy a few more guns to make changing color on the fly easier.

The white parts are actually close to the white-brown-green (ivory?) used by the whiteheads, but I couldn't set the exposure right.
