Cygnus the Swan
Difficult to make out due to the many, many stars of the Milky Way but Cygnus is there just right of Centre. Having only really viewed Cygnus from the city I always wondered why it was a swan as it looks more like a sideways t. Now I have seen the shape it makes from within the Milky Way I understand it.
Nikon D3100 on a standard camera tripod.
30 seconds, f5.6 ISO 1600 18mm
Yongnuo MC-36R/N3 Wireless Timer Remote.
Processed in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
Taken at the Summit of Moel Farwyd in Snowdonia on the 7th July 2013.
I tried taking this with the camera connected to the tracking mount however with it being so near the zenith it struggled and field rotation was too prominent to stack.
