Europa, Jupiter and Io
Another clear night means I can dig out the telescope. When Jupiter is out it is always worth a look and I spent a good couple of hours observing and filming it. I tried some deep sky stuff later on but I'm really struggling at the moment to get anything that I would deem good enough for Flickr. Astrophotography is a frustrating hobby at times especially if like me you still only have entry level equipment. Even with the slightest breeze and my AZ mount struggles.
I will not be winning any awards with this photo but its my first Jupiter shot including 2 of the Moons. I have another which includes the other 2 Galilean Moons but it has a lot of issues. I also tried with the x3 barlow which is hard. Getting it to appear on screen is a big challenge and then focusing it without it disappearing again is even harder. I gave up and I'm still not convinced it will make any improvement.
Sky-Watcher Explorer-130P with a 2X Barlow lens on a SynScan AZ GOTO Mount .
Phillips Webcam connected to the Barlow with Sellotape and used blu-tac and paper to try and reduce the light from both the webcam light and the outside.
Used Sharpcap 2 to video the planet taking 3500 frames over 2 minutes and stacking the best 70% in Registack
Used Photoshop Lightroom to make 2 pictures adjusting the exposure for the planet and moons. I then used Microsoft Paint to put them back together (I wish I had full Photoshop!)
