Snowy view of a popular image. I'd planned this shot for a while (even thought it would be better in cloudy conditions). Had to walk from A515 at Alsop-en-le-Dale as wouldn't risk side roads in the snow. Road down to Milldale from A515 steep and snowy, but across River Dove in Staffordshire all roads were well gritted and clear, which was very good considering that parts of the M1 on the way up were still a bit iffy after much less snow!!
