The White Peak
It is and it isn't!
The summit cairn of Axe Edge, somewhere I'd viewed many times but never visited. The snow level of about 1500 ft made me head high for a snowy walk. There was a mixture of snow and frost which was very squeaky underfoot. The Metoffice were predicting superb visibility so I was hoping to see Snowdonia from here (about 100 miles) but the western horizon wasn't so clear and the best I could manage was the Wrekin, near Telford at about 50 miles away
