Cooling Off
No. One son cooling feet in the cool waters of Innominate tarn on Haystacks summit. He'd initially wanted to carry on along the ridge to Red Pike, but by this point was starting to flag, and by the time we reached the car back at Gatescarth he'd had enough (6000ft of ascent and 14 miles was a good effort).
The next (and last day) I'd planned as a rest day, but he'd recovered sufficiently to persuade me to hire a couple of bikes in Keswick and we did a 20 mile plus (and 1500ft of ascent) cycle to Force Crag mine and around the Newlands valley
