Thwarted again
After wandering around Blea Tarn in the dark I drove to the top of the Wrynose Pass (free from snow now) and set off in the dark towards Red Tarn and Crinke Crags. I soon hit the snow and the path became a narrow trough ploughed thru the snow. Overnight freeze had set the footprints in the path into ankle-twisting holes, and progress became snail-like.
By Red Tarn I decided to call it a day and sat on a rock for an hour waiting for sunrise. The hills slowly lightened, and 10 minutes before dawn the sky started to turn a lovely shade of pink, seen here from my rock seat looking to Crinkle Crags and Bowfell
