Narrowdale Hill

Wolfscote, Narrowdale and Wetton Hills form a line across the central White Peak, and the River Dove and Manifold run around their bases. They are all of similar height, and can all be easily climbed. Of the three I think Wolfscote makes the best viewpoint as its slopes are steeper (and has interesting outcrops of stones on the summit), although in some ways the view of the latter two is more pleasing, here taken from the road to Wolfscote Grange with Narrowdale Hall sitting snugly below the whaleback of Narrowdale Hill. Although the Hall commands a good viewpoint, being on a northeast facing slope it mustn't get too much light, and probably suffers from damp as this is a particularly damp area, which often encourages shallow valley to form here on cold mornings
