Picnic Beach

Here's my postcard shot from Fiji. This is Canabuli Bay or otherwise known as Picnic Beach. It’s an amazing place to snorkel as the reef starts right at the waters edge (dark patch in water). My wife and daughter get a cameo as they were out snorkelling while I was making this photo. This photo was created from 8 portrait, hand held photos stitched together, with about 30% overlap.

A bit of history: The oral traditions of the indigenous people of Naigani Island trace their origins to a time when African chieftain Lutunasobasoba's war canoe was beached at Canabuli for repairs (about 1000BC), which took a number of months to complete. Thus Canabuli beach was so named from this incident, ("ca-na-buli" meaning the "buli" is broken).
