Identity
A former LNG SD40-2 passes Riley's Railhouse. This unit was the unit that Burlington Northern used in its Liquified Natural Gas program in the early 90's. It was a testbed unit and ran around with a fuel tender attached all the time. It was sold off after the BNSF merger and went to HLCX Leasing and was stripped of its BN designation but still had the distinct paint job. NS bought a round of HLCX lease units that were of BN heritage and that was one of them! Now it roams in the Chicago area of NS being used to do some heavy hauling. No LNG, no BN paint, but its still a SD40-2 through and through.
