Hardest Day (4)
Two Spitfires, one sporting D-Day markings flying over Yalding to commemorate "The Hardest Day" 18th August 1940.
This commemoration was organised by the Biggin Hill Airport Community and included aircraft from the BBMF as well as privately owned planes. Altogether 24 planes gathered at Biggin Hill and set off in different waves to mark this occasion that some historians see as a turning point of the Battle of Britain.
