Grand Central Terminal

New York City's Grand Central Terminal, built 1913. It covers an area of 48 acres and it is the largest train station in the world by number of platforms it has, 44, with 67 tracks along them. The sculpture with clock is the "Glory of Commerce",1911-14 by Jules-Felix Coutan. The clock is 13 feet in diameter and is the largest example of Tiffany glass in the World. The central figure of Mercury is 28 feet high and represents Transportation and Commerce. He is flanked by Vulcan on the left, representing Labor and Minerva on the right representing Thought. The towering Met-Life building adds a modern backdrop to the Beaux-Arts beauty of the Terminal.
