Shelly Farm

A beautiful historic c1849 barn in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, built by Sidney Rigdon, one of the leading contenders to head the Mormon church following the death of Joseph Smith, Jr.. After he didn't win the leadership, he left and brought his followers back to Pennsylvania and set up a settlement known as New Jeruselum. In the brickwork, you see a horse and this is supposed to be an image of Christ riding a donkey. It's pretty impressive brickwork. Unfortunately, the current owner is pushing to have the property rezoned commercial. If he gets his way, he might be tearing this historic barn down.
