suddenly, a wall

" For all children

who went home from school

and were never after seen again...

This buiding used to be

the Wilhelmina Catherina school.

During World War II, suddenly a wall

was built in the middle of the school.

Half of the pupils were banned

to the backside because they were Jewish.

Only a few children survived the massacre.

You stood up for us.

When they humiliated us in

the concentration camp I thought:

the frontside-children did believe

we belonged together. For you

that wall made no difference. "
