Rig for fast fieldstacking (2kg)

1. Slider: made of aluminium tube (from a tent): 15mm outer diam, 12 mm inner diam. Slides over rod (2) by means of IGLIDUR sliders (IGUS, JSM081016 iglidur® J Gleitlager, zylindrisch) inserted and glued-in at both ends (see small red arrows).

 

2. Aluminium hardened rod: IGUS, AWMP08, AluPräzisionswelle, d=08mm, hartbeschichtet, Toleranz: h8, L = 500 mm, cut to 35cm to fit in my bag). At the left side (2a) with a stopper made of an iglidur slider, glued. On the right side (2b) it's widened to 12mm diam, and loosely inserted for about 2cm in tube 7. Tube 7 has 2 fine slits, to make this go easy.

 

3. double 15 mm rod support. The screw on the left is used to clamp/block the widened part of rod 2.

 

4. SMALLRIG 15mm Rod Clamp with ARRI Rosette 1686 and SMALLRIG ARRI Rosette Handle for DSLR Cameras 1810. Fixed to rod 7.

 

5. Sony RM-VPR1, wired remote, fixed to supporting rods (7)

 

6. Part of a Wondlan 15mm rod support mounted with a Manfrotto RC2 Rapid Connect Adapter with Plate.

 

7. Supporting rods, aluminium, 15mm diam, (12 mm inner).

 

8. 8Sinn Sony A6500 Cage, protection as I often lay this rig on the ground when handling insects.
