Robberfly - Zwarte bladjager

Violet black-legged robber fly (Dioctria atricapilla, Dasypogininae, Asilidae, Diptera) with a syrphid prey (Eupeodes sp., ID credit: Paul Johnston, prajpix).

 

Studio work. Focus stack of staged specimens, based on ca. 104 images, assembled in Zerene Stacker, not cropped.

Sony A6300 + Metabones EF to Sony E + Canon EF 100mm 1:2.8L IS USM. ISO-100, f/5.6, 1/160s, single diffused flash.
