Ordered diversity
A second extreme macro of the colorful scales on the wings of a butterfly (Eterusia repleta, Lepidoptera, collection specimen from Thailand). It was fun to discover that in that mass of blue scales some were actually green.
Studio work based on 300 images (steps of 2µm using StackShot), assembled in Zerene Stacker (Pmax), cropped from above and below. Canon 5Dmkii, Canon FD bellows, Rodenstock Apo-Gerogon 240/9 (as tube lens), Mitutoyo planapo 10x, ISO-100, 1/25sec, daylight led, diffused with tracing paper.
