Magnificus

A most colorful weevil (25mm, Eupholus magnificus, Curculionidae, collection specimen, Papua, exact date & locality unknown).

 

Studio work, dried specimen was prepared and staged on an orchid leaf.

 

Focus stack based on 130 images, assembled in Zerene Stacker (Dmap & Pmax), not cropped.

 

Canon 5Dmkii, Canon MP-E 65mm at 1.2x, ISO-100, f/5.6, 1/125s, tracing paper diffused flash.
