Detail of the left side of a fruit chafer, Rhabdotis bouchardi (Scarabaeidae, Cetoniinae). The left side of the image shows the hairy abdominal segments, the right side the greenish-red wings with large fine-hairy white dots and tiny pits. Specimen collected in Wari Maro forest (Benin, West-Africa) and preserved in ethanol since 1999.

Studio stack based on 182 images taken with a Nikon CF Plan 5x/0.13 microscope objective with a Rodenstock Apo-Gerogon 240/9 as tube lens. Settings: ISO100, 1/160sec, f9, diffused flash. Images assembled in ZereneStacker (Pmax); not cropped, image 5mm high (7.2x on ff).
