La Westerkerk (chiesa occidentale) è una chiesa riformata all'interno del calvinismo protestante olandese nel centro di Amsterdam, Paesi Bassi. Si trova nella parte più occidentale del quartiere Grachtengordel (distretto di Centrum), vicino al Jordaan, tra Prinsengracht e Keizersgracht. La Westerkerk si trova vicino alla casa di Anna Frank, dove la diarista Anna Frank, la sua famiglia e altri furono nascosti negli "Achterhuis" (la casa sul retro) dalla persecuzione nazista per due anni durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Il Westertoren (campanile) è menzionato frequentemente nel suo diario: il quadrante dell'orologio sulla torre poteva essere visto dalla soffitta dell'Achterhuis e Anne Frank descriveva il ronzio del carillon come fonte di conforto. The Westerkerk (Western Church) is a Reformed church within Dutch Protestant Calvinism in central Amsterdam, Netherlands. It lies in the most western part of the Grachtengordel neighborhood (Centrum borough), next to the Jordaan, between the Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht. The Westerkerk is located close to the Anne Frank House where diarist Anne Frank, her family, and others were hidden in the 'Achterhuis' (back house) from Nazi persecution for two years during World War II. The Westertoren is mentioned frequently in her diary – its clock-face on the tower could be seen from the attic of the Achterhuis, and Anne Frank described the chiming of the carillon as a source of comfort. A memorial statue of Anne Frank is located outside the church at Westermarkt.
