Il faro di South Stack del sud è costruito sulla sommità di una piccola isola al largo della costa nord-ovest di Holy Island, Anglesey, Galles. E' stato costruito nel 1809 per salvaguardare le navi dalle pericolose rocce sottostanti. South Stack era un posto tranquillo fino al 25 ottobre 1853. Quella notte una delle più grandi tempeste colpì la costa di Anglesey. Il custode Jack Jones fu colpito alla testa da una roccia mentre stava cercando di raggiungere il faro. Morì in seguito per le ferite riportate. Si dice che il fantasma di Jack può essere sentito bussare alla porta faro di notte, o toccare le finestre, ancora in cerca di rifugio.
The South Stack Lighthouse is built on the summit of a small island off the north-west coast of Holy Island, Anglesey, Wales. It was built in 1809 to warn ships of the dangerous rocks below. South Stack was quite a happy place until 25 October, 1853. That night one of the greatest storms hit the Anglesey coast. The keeper Jack Jones was struck on the head by a falling rock while he was trying to reach the lighthouse. He died later from his injuries. They say Jack's ghost can be heard pounding on the lighthouse door at night, or tapping on its windows, still in search of refuge.
