Panning (15/52)
Deb (Bordadorhund) gave me a panning challange for this week. I have to admit, this was one of the most difficult things I've done. Maybe that's not the right word. It wasn't difficult, but it was frustrating and the rate of success minimal. Plus I drove my dog totally nuts for the last two days, making him run from left to right and right to left instead of allowing him to run forward like he usually does. I told Deb, if I had attempted one more day at panning, Ouzo might have killed me :) So today I spared my poor dog and decided to go through the countless takeouts and pick the one that mostly satisfies me.
I chose this one, because it's the closest to what I had envisioned - a clear shot of the dog while the background is conveying motion and somewhat interestingness. It still aches my brain to look at it, I tend to be drawn towards freeze action shots, but I am trying to train my mind to look at things differently :)
Shot in manual settings, 1/80 and f/10. ISO 200. On shutter priority mode the camera is easily tricked into using a shallower f stop, resulting in blown out pics - after trial and error I resorted to manual settings for this project.
ETA - wow, that was quick - already picked by Explore - must have been Ouzo's speed :)
