Here you can see once again the impressions of the second last evening in the Allgäu vacations. There the sky said goodbye once again in a colorful way.

 

The Lake Weissensee is a 2.3 km long lake with a circumference of 6.1 km in the district of Ostallgäu in Bavaria west of Füssen on the northern edge of the Alps. Only 500 meters further south lies the higher situated Alatsee. The name Weißensee either derives from its white shimmering appearance caused by deposited lime or can be explained by the fact that an Alemannian named Wizo settled here around 600 AD. The lake lies in the landscape protection area Protection of landscape parts in the area of the city of Füssen and the communities Weissensee, Eisenberg and Pfronten in the district of Füssen.

Hier seht ihr noch einmal die Impressionen vom vorletzten Abend im Allgäu Urlaub. Da verabschiedete sich der Himmel noch einmal farbenprächtig bei uns.

 

Der Weißensee ist ein 2,3 km langer See mit einem Umfang von 6,1 km im Landkreis Ostallgäu in Bayern westlich von Füssen am Nordrand der Alpen. Nur 500 Meter weiter südlich liegt der höher gelegene Alatsee. Der Name Weißensee rührt entweder von seinem durch abgelagerten Kalk weiß schimmernden Erscheinungsbild her oder lässt sich durch die Tatsache erklären, dass sich um ca. 600 n. Chr. ein Alemanne namens Wizo hier niedergelassen hat. Der See liegt im Landschaftsschutzgebiet Schutz von Landschaftsteilen im Bereich der Stadt Füssen und der Gemeinden Weissensee, Eisenberg und Pfronten im Landkreis Füssen.
