taiwanese (oil-poached) meatball (肉圓)

the meatball is pretty dense and hard, and has some bamboo shoots in it. it's also wrapped in a thick chewy skin made out of tapioca or yam flour i think.

 

the sauce is sweet and little salty. i think i got the spicy version.
