This clip features scenes of Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus in Portland, Maine in 1944. According to a program I found online, they were in Portland June 30 thru July 1, 1944. This was also just 2 stops prior to the circus visiting Hartford, CT, where there was a tragic big top fire. Note also, this clip is from the same reel as the farming clip, and was not shot by my father - it is not known who shot this movie.
