Repairing a Pen EES-2
This Pen EES-2 had stuck aperture blades. The camera is a half-frame close cousin of the Trip 35 and I have figured out how to get into those to fix the same issue. So I figured I'd have a go at this one. I also referenced an online repair video, which was helpful. On the left, I had removed just the top cover. In the middle photo, I had taken the lens apart to access the middle optics group, which has the aperture assembly inserted into it. This is deceiving, as it looks like one piece I removed in the photo, but it's actually 4 or 5 layers that were peeled off one by one. They are just stacked on each other in the photo. Still not too bad getting in there. And the last photo is the aperture assembly after I had cleaned it. The best news? I got it back together and it works! As of this posting, I've shot a roll through it and the film is at the lab being developed. Yay!!
