NOTRE DAME TRAVAUX C 1862 Photographe ?

Special dedication to Wim Hoppenbrouwers, who will soon be visiting the City of Lights...

Construction of Notre-Dame's new spire began in 1858 and was completed in 1861, according to the Parisian press. Part of the roof was demolished in the summer of 1858, followed by the installation of the last statues of the apostles and the symbols of the evangelists in 1861.

In 1864, after twenty years of work under the direction of architects Lassus and Viollet-le-Duc, the consolidated building was restored to its former splendor. S: WIKI
