City-El electric cars at BEVoB (7)
Nikki's City-El (red/yellow) and mine (white) on the way home after the Battery Electric Vehicles of Bristol meeting. These electric cars have a 36V, 2.5kW electric motor and three 110Ah lead-acid batteries, as standard. The red and yellow one has been converted to use lithium-ion batteries, which are much lighter than lead-acid. As with all electric vehicles in the UK, they qualify for free Road Tax. (This is the most-viewed photo of my entire photostream.)
